Playing With Light

As we play in the sub, his eyes still glow, but suddenly his light is no more. I walk to the end of the sub and get the last light pod in our plentiful stock. When I get his light shining again, we realize it is time to go and build on to our now empty stock.
I reach out with the arm of the sub and get our first light pod. The pod is precious as we need it to survive. We are very careful with each one assuring we don’t damage it. With each pod, our stock gets larger.
We go through trenches, caves, and tunnels when… again, our lights flicker not knowing where we are. The lights glow again, and we see the biggest light pod we have ever seen. We reach for it when… it doesn’t budge. We pull it again when we see teeth and eyes, and darkness. We realize the creature swallowed us. Glow! There are light pods everywhere!
Our new home, a place where we live and the light shines brightly. We are safe and happy and always will be for the rest our days.
