King Tut fascinates both students and adults. Since the discovery of Tutankhamen's tomb in 1922, much interest been generated about the young pharaoh. Could it be because of the items discovered in his tomb? Is it the mystery surrounding the young king's early death? You and your team have been hired by the Egyptian government to determine if King Tut was murdered.
Your team must explore various sources to learn about King Tut and the circumstances surrounding his early death. The members of the team: medical historian, a reporter, an archaeologist, a historian, and a history professor. Each member of the team will visit several sites and answer to the following questions: 1. How old was King Tut when he died? 2. What information did you find concerning his death? 3. Who or what was responsible for his death? 5. Who succeeded Tut to the throne? 6. Is the site you visited reliable? Explain. 7. What other "facts" are included about his death?
Teams members must collaborate and synthesize their information gained from their site visits. Was King Tutankhamen murdered? The team will write a persuasive essay stating and defending their position on this topic.
