In this project-based study, you have the opportunity to use inquiry and technology to analyze well-known and obscure number systems of the past and present. You will undertake lessons from the perspective of experts such as mathematicians and historians in disciplines related to the analysis of numbers. You will conduct short research projects that use different sources to create knowledge through examination of different aspects of number systems. You will integrate and analyze the information from various texts on the same topic in order to write or talk about the subject knowledgeably. Past civilizations' methods of counting provide interesting topics to explore. This unit requires you to use analytical thinking skills to extend the application of number systems to computer binary systems in the application of words and digital images.
