Drawing Challenge

Creative Thinking with Circles

11/15/2021

This creative thinking drawing challenge will help you develop fluency and flexibility. When you complete the activity, all the circles on the page will be transformed or changed into something else. As you complete each transformation, give it an abstract name.
Do you know the difference between a concrete noun and an abstract noun?

Concrete nouns name something you can touch - a person, animal, place, or thing.
Abstract nouns name a feeling or concept you cannot touch, such as happiness or education.

Todays Activity Directions

On your paper you have six circles:
1. What time is it? Turn circle 3 into a an object showing the passing of time.
2. Do anything you wish to circle 1 to make it look like an animal.
3. Make circle 2 the sun.
4. If circle 2 is the sun, think of circle 6 as the earth. Shade in the part of Circle 9 (the earth) where you think it would be dark. Remember circle 5 is the sun.
5. Look at circles 4 and 5. Try to imagine an object that would need two circles. Draw what you imagine. You may turn your paper any direction you choose.
